The Big 6-0 and Mother's Day

This past week my Dad turned 60. Being the family of surprises that we are we had several lined up for the old man this week. Last Saturday Abby and Harper showed up from Idaho as a surprise to get things started. Then on Wednesday (his actual birthday) Emmi, Hayden, and Devo showed up and literally jumped out of a box as his second surprise. On Friday night I went and picked up a brand new canoe my Mom had bought and brought it home and had it sitting in his backyard as his third surprise. Then on Saturday Hayden, Dad, and I took the canoe out for a spin on Allatoona to test it out, when we got back the house was full of about 60 family and friends for the biggest and final surprise. It was classic, he walked in the house in his 5 year old faded swimming suit and fishing hat and just stood there stunned for a second. Kudos to Mom for pulling it off. Happy 60th Dad!

Not to be overshadowed was Mother's Day. I'm not sure I'll ever realize how lucky I am to have the Mother I do. Thanks for everything Mom, Happy Mother's Day.

A recent run in with Mother Nature...

After the fact I noticed that the truck had in fact sustained some damage. A few dents in the hood as well as a hole in one of the window visors.

80 Dollar Grapes!!

The other day I went to the grocery store to pick up a few items and one of those items was grapes. The lady weighed them and told me they were 80 dollars!! I've been overcharged before, but this was unbelievable!! Luckily I had my recording device with me and got the whole thing on tape.
